Spiritual Teachings

With the dawn of a new millennium, we have seen a great rise in consciousness across the planet. Within the past few decades, the world seems to have been set on fire with the flames of knowledge. Wisdom seekers everywhere sought out spiritual teachings from within their own cultures and from other cultures as well. Thanks to the Internet, we now have access to some of the world’s most ancient wisdom.

Spiritual teachings from centuries past have been translated and full texts are available in multiple languages online. You can learn about the histories of great spiritual luminaries like Buddha or great traditions that have almost gone lost like the Native American traditions or indigenous African traditions. Indeed, with the aid of the Internet, there is almost nothing that can be found out!

However, after learning about the world’s great spiritual teachings, some people seek to travel to the origins of these various teachings. Hence, you find people from all over the globe on the tops of the Himalayas or in the deserts of Arabia. Anywhere on this planet where a great wisdom tradition sprang forth, there you are bought to find all kinds of people from different backgrounds.

This thirst for spiritual teachings is found across all lands and in all peoples. Why is that? It speaks to the unity of humankind and to the spiritual identity of all of us. We are different colors, speak different languages, and practice different customs, yet, our thirst for spirituality, our longing to connect to something greater than just our mundane routines is the common thread that unites us and makes us one.

Due to current technologies, this oneness of humanity is closer to being realized than ever before. It is perhaps through the sharing of our many different spiritual teachings that we can now put all differences aside and embrace each other as sisters and brothers.
