One of the most common indications that link to HIV test positive are rapid weight loss, inexplicable fever, sweating while sleeping in night, impulsive loss of weight, loss of hunger and inflammation of the lymph nodes and sometimes rashes but they most of the time do not prove that the person is suffering from HIV.
Some points which should be remembered while checking out the symptoms:
1. The main thing which should be kept in mind is the HIV infection causes different symptoms in different people therefore it confuses most of the time to the patients.
2. The most common sign of infection is mysterious fever which starts after 2 -4 weeks after revealing.
3. Thereafter the fever even if the patient is infected he behaves normally without any symptoms.
4. The virus presently is active in the body of the patient and internally it is in the process of destroying healthy cells of the body.
5. At last the immune system is destroyed to the extent that the patient survives for the maximum of six months.
The few common HIV tests recommended by the doctors are ELISA and Western Blot to check the presence of HIV virus in the body. If the result of HIV test is positive medical and mental help is recommended to the patient. Basically till now there has been no cure for HIV but some medicines like Lamivudine and AZT has been launched in the market which can hold and segregate the virus to a great extent. A new therapy known as HAART therapy which basically is a group of 3 drugs is used to fight the HIV virus effectively. This therapy minimizes the active intensity of the HIV virus of the patient's blood stream.
The main cause of transmission of HIV virus from one person to the other is the body fluid. Some people think that the oral sex does not transmit the HIV virus from one to another but that's not true. Any type of flow of body fluid from one person to the other can transfer HIV virus.
The person suffering from HIV should not be left alone and he should be provided with complete support from the friends and family.
