A Christian is a person who has had a life changing encounter with God, His son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, and as a result of that encounter now desires to please God in all that he does, says and thinks. This is a person who understand that without the shed blood of Christ he would be lost forever, but now because of his heart’s surrender has entered into a Kingdom where he voluntarily governs his life under its principles and reaps it’s rewards. It is a person that manifest the fruits of the Spirit (Gal. 5:22,23), lives by the golden rule (Mat.7:12), and is not ashamed of the Gospel (Rom.1:16).
With that said, we can see that many individuals and businesses would be disqualified from falling under the category of "Christian". In a Christian Home Business or Work from Home Opportunity, it’s not just enough to have a mission statement or a slogan that professes great Christian ideals; one must walk the talk as well. Because this is very rare, you become the ultimate factor (if you’re a Christian) in whether you join or start a business. And it’s at this point that you make the difference, create the culture, and the attitude of what a Christian Business should look and act like.
Now, because walking with God and manifesting His character is the byproduct of an intimate relationship with Him, you will inevitably have people within your organization that may not reflect His attributes very well. But nevertheless, the culture, attitude, and heart of your business and team should still remain distinguishable from other businesses, so that if a prospective customer or client was to interact with one of your business partners or team members they would still know and sense that there is something different and special about you and/or your business.
If you’re reading this article you may very well be a believer in Christ who is doing his home work to identify a business that may be right for you or someone who has an open and tolerant mind about Christians, including a Christian Home Based Business Opportunity. One way to identify what may be a good fit for you is to see what you are passionate about or maybe think back to when you where a child - what did you want to be when you grow up. For example, let’s say you’ve always liked Law, maybe you might enjoy a business that provides Legal Services; or maybe you’re into Health, you may enjoy some sort of Nutritional Business; How about Vacationing, you may like some sort of Travel Business; or maybe you’re into Technology, you may like an Internet or Computer Business.
Once you figure out what business is right for you, you must look to see that it’s going to provide you with the right tools to succeed, the most important one being support. For many people embarking on a work from home business, this is something that’s new to them, and support is going to be very crucial to their success. So, my recommendation is that you join not only the right individual that can provide you with guidance, training, and mentoring, but also make sure to join the right team, because you do not want to put all your eggs in one basket (your business partner); God forbid something would happen to him or her and then you are left all by yourself – not a good place to be when you’re first starting out.
Regardless of which business you choose, always remember you are the ultimate factor in whether your business is a Christian Home Based Business or not.
