Benidorm Water Parks and Their Wet & Wild Rides!

A firm favourite amongst those planning a family holiday in Spain, Benidorm is not only known for its picturesque beaches and wild nightlife, but its impressive water parks as well. A great place to take kids or even be a kid yourself, these water parks which combine all the thrills and spills of a modern day amusement park make for an ideal all day excursion for the whole family.

Situated near the Mediterranean, Aqualandia is a must visit attraction for any water park enthusiast. The park boasts of 75,000 square metres of greenery that provide the ideal backdrop for the heart pounding slides and slopes of this watery wonderland, which is one of the largest of its kind in Europe. Apart from the newly featured “Splash” track where one can race against friends, other attractions include the exhilarating “Black Hole”, the stomach turning “Big Bang”, the seemingly never ending spirals of “Zig Zag” and “Atlantic Surf” which recreates the sea inside a pool, waves and all! Little ones will also love a visit to “Adventureland” where there are more sedate slides and a small labyrinth.

Visitors staying in Benidorm hotels and apartments near the resort centre can reach Aqualandia in the Rincon de Loix area by catching Bus # 11 or 47. Those arriving at the train station can alternatively take Bus # 1 or 4. Families heading to Rincon de Loix can also visit the Mundomar Marine Animal Park with its spectacular 40 minute dolphin shows and exotic aviary.

Those looking for a truly unforgettable family holiday should also make time to visit the popular Terra Mitica and Terra Natura parks which are conveniently located near each other. Blending gravity defying rides with the slippery attractions of a water park, these two amusement parks are an obvious choice for those travelling with kids. Visitors should try and find close by hotels in Benidorm thereby giving one a chance to head to both the parks which offer two unique experiences.

The Terra Mitica Park is made up of five different themed sections such as Rome with its super fast “Flight of the Phoenix” and wooden rollercoaster named “Magnus Colossus”, the Iberia section with its twisty “Tizona” rollercoaster and the Greece area with the head spinning SynKope giant discus. Those looking to cool off after having soared and plummeted down to earth in quick succession can visit the more water park style rides at The Islands section. This area is home to the “Rapids of Argos” that takes one on a wet and wild journey following the trail of the mythical Golden Fleece and the “Rage of Achilles” that gives visitors a taste of high sea adventure. The Ocionia section is where one can challenge the rapids in a rollercoaster style ride known as the "Falls of the Nile".

The Terra Natura Park also has different themed areas such Asia, Europe, America and Pangea which showcase a fascinating collection of wildlife set amidst contrasting landscapes that are a reflection of each corresponding section. Home to a popular zip wire ride as well as the zoo-immersion design style where one can get closer to the animals, Terra Natura is where one will find the Aqua Natura water park as well. This part of the park which is equipped with around 800 metres of water slides, water castles and even a laidback beach area offers plenty of family fun in the sun.

Both the Terra Mitica and Terra Natura parks are connected to the Benidorm centre via Bus # 21 or 22. Visitors travelling on the Generalitat Valenciana (FGV) train network can get off at the Terra Natura–Terra Mitica stop and catch a bus from there.

These water parks offer holiday memories that will last a lifetime and are places where young and old alike can enjoy a carefree day out with the family.
