Pope Benedict XVI comes to Valencia

The World Meeting of the Families takes place every 3 years, bringing together hundreds of thousands of families from all five continents. During the first week of July 2006 Pope Benedict XVI will attend the 5th World Meeting of the Families in the city of Valencia.

The city was chosen to host the event by his predecessor, Jean-Paul II, in February 2005. This year´s theme is to be "The transission of faith to the family". In his confirmation letter to Archbishop Agustín García-Gasco of Valencia, the Pope stated that "marriage and the family are both irreplaceable and permit no other alternatives" and that the matrimonial bond between man and woman "is the foundation of the family and the patrimony and common good of humanity". This is not the only recent papal visit to Valencia. Jean-Paul II came in 1982, celebrating Mass using the chalice that is said to have been used by Jesus during his last supper and is now on display in the Valencia Cathedral Museum. There are, of course, some inscrupulous property owners who will be asking huge money to rent their apartments (some at 7,000 euros per week), but fear not, as there are agencies, such as www.accommodation-valencia.com, who´s prices will remain reasonable the whole week long.

To find your ideal holiday rental, go to www.accommodation-valencia.com We have a whole range of comfortable appartments available both in the city center and by the beach. Here you will be sure to find exactly what you need to make your stay an enjoyable, easy and relaxing experience.
