Electronics are one of the most important items that need to be recycled. We do not need, to allow our old electronics, to wind up in landfills, where the hazardous materials they have within them, can soak into the earth, causing great damage to our planet. Many of today’s electronics have levels of lead, mercury and cadmium resting inside them. These are toxic waste to our planet, if they are not taken care of. So, what can we do, if we desire to avoid this problem?
Electronics are changing and evolving even as you read this. The technology is always altering its evolution and expanding into new forms. What is new today, may very well be old tomorrow. Every year it seems you have to update your electronics. When you do, don’t throw the old electronics away. Give them to a friend, after all, what are friends for? You can also give them to a family member who is without. Pass it around the family and keep it going. If it is no good, donate it to a location that will recycle the material in accordance with green policy. As consumers, we play a vital role in the ‘Green” revolution. We can do our part in protecting our environment by recycling our electronics, like televisions, cell phones, and video games. Remember, it is our world today, but it will be our children’s world tomorrow. Think Green. Recycle!
