The Leonardo da Vinci school, present in some of the most interesting sites in Italy (Florence,
Milan, Rome and Siena) is a recognized examination centre for Accademia Italiana di Lingua (AIL)
and organizes courses for beginners as well as advanced students.
The Accademia Italiana di Lingua is the professional Association schools, institution and and
experts working in the field of teaching Italian as a foreign language.
The members of the association guarantee and promote the high quality of Italian Language teaching.
The programs consist in Standard courses combined with some specific preparatory courses and its
duration depends on your knowledge of the italian language from 4 to 24 weeks.
The Leonardo da Vinci schools lessons are based on the Communicative Approach Method (CAM): from
the first day on, at all levels, only Italian will be spoken.
Teachers emphasize the spoken and living language; the teaching staff consists of young teams of
experienced language teachers, all of whom have studied at University and who have been specially
trained in teaching italian to foreigners.
The Leonardo da Vinci schoos offer courses on six ability levels, following the Assessment Grid of
the European Language Portfolio (ELP/CEP: Common European Framework of References for Language )
which is based on the assessment grid of Schneider/North.
At the end of each course and level, your progress will be assessed through a written test.
The specific preparatory courses always start one month before the examination dates and consist of
4 daily lessons of grammar review and conservation plus 2 lessons of test taking strategies and
examination drills.
