No Win No Fee Lawyer Flies To Australia To Help Victims Of Abuse

Alan Collins, a specialist child-abuse lawyer is jetting off halfway round the world to Australia to fight for compensation for victims of abuse at the now infamous children’s home in Jersey.

Mr Collins wants to fight on a no win no fee basis for compensation and some kind of apology for the horrific abuse which these people say they suffered as children at the Haut de la Garenne children's home in Jersey.

He has already been to Jersey to meet some of the victims and is now flying to Australia to meet more who suffered at the home. He is trying to build up a more complete picture of the horrors which took place in order to put together a strong case on behalf of his clients.

“I have clients who say that they were abused there, and I will be trying to obtain compensation for them as well as some sort of closure on what is a horrific and very sensitive case.

'I will be travelling to Australia to speak to some of the people who have made contact and I have also contributed to radio broadcasts out there offering support to other potential victims.

'As part of the process I am also trying to understand how the home functioned, who worked there, who supervised and managed it and this will, hopefully, enable me to understand how any abuse could possibly have happened.”

Mr Collins is optimistic about the case and feels that these people deserve fair representation and compensation, which is why he is offering his services on a no win no fee basis.
