I am a very successful person, but in what way do I measure this success? Is it by the amount of money I have in my bank account, by the car that I drive, by the house that I live in or by the amount of friends I have? No is the answer to these questions, it is in fact by how happy I am. I have at last reached a point in my life where I can honestly say that I am very happy. The next question therefore has to be, how was I able to reach and achieve this level of happiness?
I am a person who used to feel quite sorry for himself. I had a stutter, a bald patch on my head, I am quite short for a male and I have always been, well at least since my teenage years, rather obese.
These aspects did affect my life and people did laugh and abuse me. Aged twenty-two I decided to fight back. I wanted to achieve a weight I was happy and comfortable with, I was desperate to rid my speech of the frustrating stutter and I was determined to become far more care-free in my attitude to life.
After a long time and a lot of hard work I was able to achieve my goals. I am now able to think in a positive attitude and no longer care what people think of me. Life has never been so good.
